Alicia Olivares Robles

Alicia Olivares is an Afro-Peruvian actor, director and founder of Mujeres Afro en Escena (Afro Women on Stage) and Ebony Theater (Ébano Teatro). Alicia seeks to generate spaces of cultural creation that empower the cultural participation of women Afro-descendent women.
She is a professional actor with a degree from the Escuela Nacional Superior de Arte Dramático of Perú, general producer of “Fences” by August Wilson, and actor and executive producer of the work “Intimate Apparel” by Lynn Nottage. She was the assistant director for Athol Fugard‘s “Master Harold and the Boys.” She is the creator and director of the International Convening of Afro Women on Stage.
In 2023 Alicia was a delegate before the United Nations (UN) in the Permanent Forum of Afro-descendents, where she argued for the right of afro-descendents to determine their own cultural futures.
